3. Clinical Safety Note

⚕️
The APGAR score is a tool for documentation and outcome description of the neonate's condition at birth. It must never delay initiation of neonatal resuscitation. Resuscitation decisions must follow NRP/NSSK clinical judgement, not APGAR scoring. In research settings, APGAR data should be recorded retrospectively or concurrently by a second observer to avoid any compromise to timely resuscitation.
